Supporting Everyday Heroes to Make Everyday Differences
It takes very little to relieve human suffering. It takes only compassion and a decision to help.
The Grassroots Hero Foundation supports small community organizations and volunteers making everyday differences in the lives of people. These ‘grassroots heroes’ are often the most trusted and directly connected with children, families, and people in need. The Foundation is committed to supporting these heroes who continually sacrifice and find ways to overcome challenges to help those affected by war and disasters.
Ways We help
We support individual volunteers and community organizations to help children, families, the elderly and other people in need. Sometimes this means providing funds for extra food, hygiene and toiletry items, clothing and shoes, or toys and school supplies for children. It can also mean supporting activities that provide children with a sense of safety and normalcy. Many of these children have lost their homes and live in hardship after fleeing the traumas of war. The organizations we support provide important spaces for play and development that are so essential to the wellbeing of children.
Our Philosophy
We believe in working with and through trusted partners to relieve unmet needs when these cross our path. This means that we put people first and are committed to always finding ways to make meaningful differences for people in need. One of the most effective ways of doing this is listening and supporting grassroots volunteers and organizations who are trusted and understand the needs and priorities of their communities.
